A timeshare (sometimes called as vacation ownership) is a property with a divided form of ownership or use rights. These properties are typically resort condominium units, in which multiple parties hold rights to use the property, and each owner of the same accommodation is allotted their period of time.

Units may be sold as a partial ownership, lease, or “right to use”, in which case the latter holds no claim to ownership of the property.

Exchanging timeshares

Used as the basis for attracting mass appeal to purchasing a timeshare, is the idea of owners exchanging their week, either independently or through exchange agencies. There are several exchange agencies, but only two are frequently mentioned in the industry. They are the two largest: RCI and Interval International (II), which combined, have over 7,000 resorts.

Cancellation of a timeshare contract

Timeshare sales are often high-pressure and fast-moving affairs. Some people get caught up in the excitement of the sales presentation and sign a contract, only to realize later that they may have made a mistake.

How to sell a timeshare

Many timeshare owners find that after many years of happily using their timeshares, their lifestyle suddenly changes, and they are no longer able to use their vacation properties as frequently as they’d like. Others unfortunately purchased their timeshare on a whim and now realize that timesharing is not for them. And still more owners find that financial or personal circumstances prevent them from taking regular vacations with their timeshare.

Finding a website that can effectively publicize your timeshare property to a global audience is one of the most important factors when it comes to how to sell a timeshare property.

For those owners who do not want to deal with figuring out how to sell a timeshare on your own, a timeshare broker can provide you with valuable assistance throughout the entire sales process. Timeshare brokers are also a great option for owners who do not wish to pay an upfront fee to advertise their timeshares, as most legitimate brokers charge a commission only after your timeshare has sold.
